Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.

Voices to Follow

Disability is perhaps the most diverse minority group on the planet. That’s because it can become a part of any our lives at any time. Disabled people are Black, White, Latinx, Asian, male, female, nonbinary, religious, atheists, and every other type of identity you can imagine. And each of our identities changes the way we identify with disability.

This list offers a starting point to help you connect with and listen to more disabled adult voices. Some of them will say different things than what you find on this site. That’s important. The only way we can really become better allies and self-advocates is by listening.

Media

Some of the best resources on disability can be found in books, articles, videos, and other media. If you’re looking for places to learn more, here’s where to start.
